The 'Meeting Place' of the Western Cape York
The Napranum Aboriginal Shire Council through its Mayor, councillors and staff provide services to the residents living in Napranum community.
Napranum, meaning ‘meeting place’, is located 819 kilometers North West of Cairns on the western side of the Cape York Peninsula.
Napranum is home to approximately 1000 Indigenous people who are descended from as many as 40 different groups from around Cape York Peninsula
We are excited to welcome an experienced Aged Care and Disability Services professional to lead our team of Support Workers in promoting and maintaining client independence and enhancing their quality of life.

What to Expect
Day-to-day you will be accountable for providing high-level supervision of culturally appropriate Community Care Services to all clients. This can include:
- Capacity Building - Training, mentoring and empowering support workers on the team.
- Service Delivery - Ensuring all clients receive a high quality of support and service on their program.
- Compliance - Ensure our service is delivered in line with Council policy and procedures, our NDIS service agreement and the Aged Care quality standard including providing spotless documentation to support that compliance.
- Relationships - Work closely with the Business Development/Grants Manager to secure funding opportunities.
- Financials - Manage the budget plans, external contracts and costings of the services under your accountability.
Please note: you will be working in a dry community.
Your Skills
To succeed in this role you will bring proven experience leading a team in Social Support Services with experience engaging Indigenous communities and clients.
We are looking for confidence and adaptability with the ability to empathise with and understand people from a variety of backgrounds, cultural and socioeconomic. You will bring a high-level of emotional intelligence and be a passionate leader keen to proactively build great relationships with your team, community and clients.
You will also need to hold or be willing to obtain:
- A relevant qualification in Social or Community Services, Health or Aged Care
- Full COVID-19 Vaccination (4 doses)
- A National Police Check
- NDIS Workers Screening
- A Blue Card
- A Senior First Aid certificate
- A current class 'C' Drivers Licence
