About the Organisation 

The Scenic Rim region is a thriving rural paradise set in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and surrounded by World Heritage-listed national parks. Home to a population of more than 40,000 the region covers 4,254sq km and is located an hour south of Brisbane and an hour inland from the Gold Coast.

Known for its breathtaking scenery, it is a popular tourist destination offering visitors plenty to see and do. From its myriad of wineries and art galleries to expansive bushwalking tracks, state of the art equine facilities, agriculture, growing rural communities and friendly country charm, the Scenic Rim region is a must-see destination.  It contains more than 30,000 hectares of parkland, including national parks and council controlled parks, and three recreational dams.

The Council plays an important role to improve the thriving economy, and has a strong community spirit.  Council budget is approximately $97.5 million with a capital expenditure of $31.3 million, operating budget of $66.4 million with a staff base of 379.

About the Position

We are looking for a proven leader who has an exemplary understanding of challenges faced in a growing organisation, and the ability to identify and act on opportunities to strengthen our economy.  To be successful in this role you will be able to devise business and cultural transformational objectives to ensure the ongoing success and sustainable future of the Council. 

Council is offering an attractive remuneration package which includes a salary, and a motor vehicle (or allowance).
