The Role
As Senior Project Manager you will report to the Director of Projects and be responsible for ensuring Council's consistency in planning and delivering projects for the Cloncurry community. The successful incumbent will be required to manage a portfolio of projects, focused on product, process and system development, providing long-term delivery and project effectiveness. The incumbent will also provide project assurance to the Cloncurry Shire Executive and Council for the portfolio of projects to meet Council's operational and strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of infrastructure projects including their interdependencies, resourcing and proposed changes which may affect project priorities
- Monitoring the quality of project outputs to ensure strategic objectives are met
- Assist in the preparation of the budget to ensure Council sets appropriate financial accounting targets regarding project planning and delivery
- Scope, plan and deliver project plans based on best practice and sound judgement
- Identify resourcing in line with the project/s planning and delivery needs and Council's budgetary constraints
- Ensure all projects are delivered with a high emphasis on customer service, recognising the need to reconcile, at times, competing priorities of individual stakeholder requirements and community interests.

About You
You will be a highly regarded Senior Project Manager with experience coaching and leading Project Managers across diverse projects. With substantial knowledge of project management best practices and tools you will have experience in a senior project leadership role managing mid-size to large capital projects in complex, public facing environments.
Degree qualified in engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline or with extensive relevant experience you can demonstrate project leadership skills and the ability to handle multiple, complex projects simultaneously. You should also be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in and a comprehensive knowledge of, regulatory requirements in the building and construction industry and project management
- Experience working with and coordinating various contract resources including architectural, engineering, construction management and construction personnel
- Ability to read and understand technical design and engineering drawings
- Experience in strategic planning, policy and procedure formulation and establishment of monitoring and reporting systems and budgets
You will have achieved a Certified Practising Senior Project Manager (CPSPM) as recognised by the AIPM, or other certification in project management.
As a renowned leader with a collaborative approach, you will be able to demonstrate experience in leading and managing project teams to deliver results, demonstrate high levels of client focus and illustrate where you have achieved improved outcomes; and possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
