About the Positions 

IT Procurement Specialist: Reporting directly to the IT Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement sourcing strategies specifically for IT Goods, services and works. This includes engaging with the stakeholder, undertaking market research, developing tender packages and managing the procurement process end to end.

General Procurement Specialist: This role is accountable to the Coordinator Procurement & Contract Performance and will involve leading sustainable procurement strategies across a broad range of categories to meet the councils high-risk and high-value contracting requirements and managing end to end process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainable procurement sourcing strategies.
  • Lead procurement activities from planning to contract formation.
  • Provide advice within the council’s procurement framework.
  • Develop and manage procurement documentation and contracts.
  • Offer support and advice on contract management.

About You

You are a forward-thinking procurement professional with a solid understanding of the procurement landscape, either in ICT (for the IT Procurement Specialist) or across a variety of categories (for the General Procurement Specialist). With excellent communication and negotiation skills, you are adept at building effective relationships and delivering strategic procurement solutions.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or substantial equivalent experience.
  • For IT Procurement Specialist: Demonstrated knowledge of the Queensland Information Technology Contracting (QITC) Framework.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business technologies.
  • Current “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
