About The Roles
Accountable to the Manager Works, this newly created 3-4 year contract role has an outright focus on driving customer service enhancements, implementing efficient processes, embracing technological advancements, taking ownership of a business group and ensuring effective road maintenance operations. Council is seeking an experienced candidate with an engineering background in road maintenance or operations maintenance.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction in the Works branch, driving high-quality community outcomes.
- Oversee maintenance program development across our transport asset portfolio.
- Lead multiple programs, from planning to execution, ensuring they align with Council's objectives.
- Ensure compliance with policies and legislation, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
- Engage in high-level communications, representing the Council in various forums.
- Manage the branch budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficiency.

About You
You are a driven professional with a passion for community and infrastructure development. People will describe you as a leader who brings not only experience in civil works coordination but also possesses at least a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. Your excellent communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to excellence are crucial. Ideally, you'll also be a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or equivalent, ready to apply your strategic management and team leadership skills to shape South Burnett's future.
