  • Full-time contract position $120k salary 12.5% Super + option of Car allowance

About The Role:

Council has identified the need to increase its capabilities and improve procurement function processes to ensure Council is gaining maximum value for expenditure across the organisation. Responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of the framework, upskilling the team and transitioning back to procurement business as usual (BAU), leveraging economies of scale and other procurement strategies to add value.

  • Oversee day-to-day procurement functions to ensure cost-effectiveness and streamline processes
  • Monitor supplier performance and relationships and create more strategic partnerships with current and potential suppliers
  • Conduct category management activities, leveraging research, data analysis, forecasting, planning and scheduling
  • Analyse business and commercial opportunities, offering recommendations, initiatives and strategies to management and executive leadership teams (ELT)
  • Develop and deliver training on Council's procurement systems and processes
  • Undertake investigative and research projects to contribute to the achievement of Council objectives

About You:

You will be an energetic and proactive individual, adept at driving transformative change in both process and culture. An experienced team leader proficient in motivating and nurturing team growth, developing and implementing a procurement framework and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will be a dynamic "do-er" who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about driving positive change.

  • Formal qualifications in a business-related discipline
  • Proficiency in drafting complex procurement and technical documents, showcasing strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively within team settings
  • Aptitude for handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong emphasis on ethics and accountability to ensure fair, transparent and compliant vendor treatment
  • Current Queensland Class C (Standard) Drivers’ Licence
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite & Technology One
