The Position
The General Manager Community Services is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of essential services that sit at the centre of community life in Aurukun. Reporting to the CEO, the role leads a diverse and complex portfolio including childcare, community engagement, events, funeral assistance, the Indigenous Knowledge Centre, library and radio services, community security, and environmental health. As a member of the Executive Team, you will contribute to organisational strategy, governance, budgeting, and performance, while ensuring services are delivered with integrity, cultural respect, and a strong focus on measurable community outcomes.

About You
You are a values‑led, culturally respectful leader with experience delivering community or human services in complex environments, ideally within a First Nations, regional or remote context. You may be an established General Manager or Director, or a high‑performing senior manager who is ready to step up into an executive role. You are renowned for strong people leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders. Supported by a strong Assistant GM and Executive Team, you will be willing to grow into the full breadth of the role while demonstrating accountability, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

A Salary of up to $190K + super + FMV and provision of a rent-free house and generous relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate.
