The Role
Reporting to the CEO, this is a role with genuine presence and influence. As Director Community Services & Economic Development, you sit at the executive table, shaping the social, cultural and economic pulse of the Shire.
Your portfolio is as diverse as it is rewarding - from major community and civic events to tourism assets, economic development initiatives, libraries, galleries, grants and Council’s early learning centre. You will lead and support a committed team, work closely with the CEO, Councillors and stakeholders, and translate strategy into visible, on‑the‑ground outcomes that the community feels every day.

The Person
You are a confident, contemporary leader who thrives on complexity and connection. You bring maturity, warmth and resilience, with the ability to lead people, manage diverse portfolios and build trust across community, government and industry stakeholders.
Your background may span local government, community services, tourism, events, economic development or related sectors however what matters most is your ability to lead at a strategic level while staying grounded and approachable. Renowned for being collaborative but decisive, you are relationship‑driven and motivated by making a genuine difference.
